The college has standardized on the Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools. Students & employees are provided licenses to access these software products online, on campus, and on personal devices.
The most common way for students to access the Microsoft 365 software suite is online at https://office.com. Simply log in with your Richland email address & NetID password to access available Microsoft software products.
Employees and students can also access Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) on the college-owned desktop computers that are available in offices & classrooms across campus. Most employees will want to use the desktop version of these products, as well as the desktop version of Microsoft Outlook, to easily interact with files and other administrative software systems.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are also available as free downloads in both the Apple App Store & the Google Play Store. After downloading one of these apps, you can log in with your Richland email address & NetID password to license & access the software.
Additionally, if you have a personal Windows or Apple-based computer, you can download the Microsoft 365 suite for free on your device; you will be able to use it as long as you remain a student or employee at the college.
To download and install Microsoft 365 on your personal computer, you will need to log in to https://office.com with your Richland email address & NetID password.
After
logging in (above), you should see a rectangle in the upper right-hand portion
of the screen that is labelled Install
Office. Click on it, and then click
on Other Install Options. Then, click on the Install Office button. Your software download will start, and some
additional instructions will appear.
Please follow the provide instructions to install your software.
After installation, you will need to license your software. The software should eventually prompt you to enter your licensing information, or you can proactively enter your licensing information under File…Office Account. You will license your software with the same information that you use to log in to the Microsoft Office website (your Richland email address & NetID password).
Please note, you are allowed to license Office on a maximum of five (5) personal devices.
