Connecting to Your Richland-Provided Computer

Employees, along with certain students & external support personnel, can use Microsoft's Remote Desktop software to access college computers while off-campus.

If you are using a Windows-based computer at your off-site location, click on the Start menu and type in Remote Desktop Connection to launch the remote access program.  Mac users can install the Microsoft-branded client from the Apple App Store at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/remote-desktop-mobile/id714464092.  Android or iOS users should download the most recent Microsoft Remote Desktop app from their respective app stores.  Linux users will need to find an RDP client that has RD Gateway functionality and works with their distro; Remmina (https://remmina.org) may be a viable choice for some users.

Please Note: Multifactor authentication is required for Richland personnel who are using the remote system.  If you have not done so already, please contact the Technical Services Department or the TLC to configure multifactor authentication on your account before proceeding.

The following instructions are written for Windows-based computers.  You will need to perform similar steps on other operating systems; please contact the Tech Services department or the TLC if you need assistance setting up your remote client software.
